combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items or services
prepared in accordance with format in FAR subpart 12.6, as supplemented
with additional information included in this notice. This announcement
constitutes the only solicitation; and a written solicitation will not
be issued. This solicitation is issued Request for Quotation (RFQ No.
NIA-99-JCC009). The solicitation clause and provisions are those in
effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-06. The Standard
Industrial Classification (SIC) Code for this acquisition is 3826.
NIH/NIA Gerontology Research Center intends to award a purchase order
on a sole source basis to Bruker Instruments Incorporated to purchase
accessories for the Bruker DMX400 Spectrometer. These will include one
(1) each of the following: Micro2.5 micro imaging probe/gradient
accessory for WB and SWB magnets and includes a) gradient assembly with
actively shielded gradients of 2.5 G/cm/A (i.e., 100G at 40A) b)
Detachable RF probe (supplied with 3 inserts tuned for (1)H observation
[PH0602]) c) inserts to be supplied are -single tuned 1H 15mm diameter
resonator (vertical orientation)-single tuned 1H 20mm diameter
resonator (vertical orientation)-double tuned 1H/31P 25mm diameter
resonator (vertical orientation) d) gradient security box for
current/temp overloads; MicroMouse probebody for imaging of mice and
includes 30mm diameter RF coil, animal holder and transducers for ECG
and respiratory gating and appropriate filters for RF
rejection/Micro2.5 "blank" coil design insert from 2.5 to 30mm and
includes all rf connectors, tuning and matching capacitors and
associated mechanical parts in a standard single tuned insert/Upgrade
to phase coherent TomoFCU which requires exchange of existing FCU1 to
AQX chassis. Vendor will provide installation and warranty. The
following FAR provisions apply to this solicitation: 52.212-1

provisions also apply to this acquisition, 52.232-33 Mandatory

days from the date of this notice 2/12/99, 5:00 PM Eastern Time to the
