The Unconventional Innovations Program of the National Cancer Institue (NCI)is interested in receiving proposals under a Broad Agency Announcement (N01-CM-97065-32) entitled "Novel Technologies for Noninvasive Detection, Diagnosis and Treatment of Cancer." The NCI is specifically soliciting projects to develop technology systems or systems components that will enable the sensing of defined signatures of different cancerous and precancerous cell types or their associated microenvironment in the body in a way that is highly sensitive and specific, yet non-intrusive. The highest priority is for systems that can either support or provide a seamless interface between sensing/detection and intervention.
