46 -- SLUDGE DEWATERING SYSTEM SOL RFQ 428-0014 POC Thomas G. Dufort, Regional Contract Specialist, 570/547-1641, ext. 548 The Federal Prison Camp (FPC) Allenwood, located in Montgomery, Pennsylvania, has a requirement for a sludge dewatering system with a sludge feed pump. The sludge dewatering system shall include, a single skid-mounted assembly, one screw press, emulsion -- type polymer dilution / feed system, head tank with a minimum of a 3/4 HP (Horse Power) variable speed flocculator, control panel and all necessary piping, valves and wiring to optimize mixing and feeding of polymer with the sludge prior to entering the screw press. The Government shall be responsible for the installation and hook-up of the delivered equipment. The Contractor shall provide a factory-trained representative for 2 days to monitor the start-up and operation of the sludge dewatering system and pump. The Contractor's representative shall also provide on-site instruction of Government personnel in the proper operation and maintenance of the system. The Contractor's representative shall also inspect the sludge dewatering system to ensure its installation is in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations. This requirement is not set-aside for any specific socio-economic programs (i.e., small business, disadvantaged business, etc...). All responsible sources may submit a quotation which shall be considered by the Government. The Standard Industrial Classification Code is 3589. The small business size standard is no more than 500 employees. The solicitation issue date is anticipated to be February 16, 1999, and the response date is anticipated to be March 8, 1999.
