transmission of insurance claims for Department of Veterans Affairs
Medical Centers located in Augusta, Dublin and Decatur, Georgia;
Charleston and Columbia, South Carolina; and Birmingham, Montgomery and
Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Contract period will be July 1, 1999, through June
30, 2000, with two(2) one (1) year options to extend. Software and
configuration, installation and on-site training must be completed by
June 30, 1999, and electronic transmission of insurance claims will
commence on July 1, 1999. Applicable Standard Industrial Code (SIC) is
7374 with a size standard of $18.0 million. The successful contractor
must be able to receive and send formatted health and pharmacy
insurance claims electronically in, but not necessarily limited to,
UB92 and HCFA 1500 formats, and edit and forward to the individual
payers. The successful contractor must be regularly established in the
business, financially responsible and have the necessary equipment and
personnel to furnish this service. The Government reserves the right to
award none, one or multiple contracts from this solicitation. Award
will be made to the offeror(s) whose overall offer is most advantageous
to the Government based on the following factors: (1) Quality of
service; (2) access to largest number of insurance carriers; (3) past
performance; (4) personnel qualifications/experience; and (5) price.
Issue date is February 22, 1999, and offers are due March 23, 1999.
