Communications System seeks sources for repair and maintenance of radio
communications antennae, towers, rotator systems, cables, and
associated equipment at the Defense Information Systems Agency
Headquarters compound, 701 S. Courthouse Road, Arlington, Virginia. The
contractor must be licensed to do commercial antenna and tower work in
the Commonwealth of Virginia. The repair and maintenance will include,
but not be limited to, two KLM log-periodics mounted on separate 40
foot-high towers, two 35 foot-high verticals with base-mounted
couplers, three B&W T2FDs, one dual-stacked VHF/UHF yagi, one 440-MHZ
vertical, one 220-MHZ vertical, one 2-Meter vertical, and one UHF
discone. Also, a Mosely/Prosearch MLPS-3.0-30-48 log-periodic antenna
and its Telex/Hy-Gain R-3502 rotator, which is mounted atop a 137
foot-high free standing tower. The contractor must have at least five
years of experience working with these particular models and be
authorized to install, repair, and maintain these specific
Mosely/Prosearch and Telex/Hy-Grain models. There are also underground
cables as well as cabling to the antenna and rotator, therefore the
contractor must have the following test equipment: Hewlett-Packard
8714B Vector Network Analyzer and Tektronix 1502C TDR. The contractor
must also have a minimum of 5 years of continuous experience erecting
and maintaining large antenna and tower systems used throughout the HF
radio spectrum. All tower work must be done by the prime contractor
with no subcontractors except for cranes. All responsible sources may
submit a qualification statement which shall be considered. No
entitlement to payment of direct or indirect costs or charges by the
Government will arise as a result of the submission of contractors
information. The Government shall not be liable for or suffer any
consequential damages for any proprietary information not properly
identified. Proprietary information will be safeguarded in accordance
