The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) plans to award a purchase order to Society for Protective Coatings (SSPC) to assist FHWA in developing and conducting a bridge coatings technology symposium a regional basis. The SSPC will accelerate implementation of symposium results which will provide research and practical benefit to FHWA and the bridge maintenance community. Because SSPC is the sole trade organization in the industrial painting and coatings industry they are uniquely qualified to develop and conduct these symposiums. No other known organization has an available database and membership to ensure success of these symposiums. This is a Simplified Acquisition and the anticipated award date is February 12, 1999.
