SPAWAR Systems Center, Charleston, SC, Code 315 is seeking vendor sources that can provide self contained meteorological systems that can be used to assist in forecasting fog. These systems must provide, as a minimum, temperature, barometric pressure, relative humidity, wind speed, and wind direction output data. As many as 25 self-contained systems may be installed on the Ross Ice Shelf near McMurdo Station, Antarctica. The systems must be able to transmit and display real time data to the weather office at distances up to 50 miles. The systems must be able to operate in temperatures as low as -40 degrees Celsius and winds up to 100 Knots.
