JOINT SERVICE AIRCREW MASK (JSAM)-QUESTION FROM PCO-CONTRACT TYPE The Contracting Officer's Wants to Know: The JSAM IPT is in the process of determining the acquisition strategy for the Joint Service Aircrew Mask program. Industry input on the appropriate contract type is greatly appreciated for each phase of development and for production. The development phase consist of two phases, Program Definition and Risk Reduction (PDRR) and Engineering, Manufacturing and Development (EMD). The contract types available for use are identified in Part 16 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation and consist of Firm Fixed Price, and Cost Reimbursement types. Please identify which type you feel is appropriate and the reasoning for that selection.
