Dental and Craniofacial Research has a requirement for the conduct of
a controlled Phase I clinical trial of the efficacy of thymosin beta-4
on healing of patients with pressure ulcers. The contractor will be
required to recruit a minimum of 40 patients with non-healing, chronic,
pressure ulcers of at least three months. The objective of the study is
to have thymosin beta-4 tested for its ability to effect wound repair
in venous ulcers, which are the most common form of chronic wounds. The
Request for Proposal (RFP) will be available on or about February 12,
1999, with a closing date for proposals approximately March 26, 1999.
