(513) 487-2027 WEB: Office of Acquisition Management -- Cincinnati
Contracts, http://www.epa.gov/oam/cinn_cmd. The U.S. EPA has a need for
a Gas Chromatograpyy-Mass Selective Detection (GC-MS) Analytical System
to provide the advanced technology that will enable analysis of human
tissue samples for environmental toxicants. These toxicants will
include pesticides, endocrine disruptors and exposure biomarkers. The
GS-MC system shall also provide ultra-trace sensitivity coupled with
selectivity which is required when analyzing human and/or environmental
samples. Generally, the GC-MS system shall: include a Mass Selective
Detector and Ion Gauge Controller; have vacuum pumping systems,
electronic impact and negative ion detection systems. The Gas
Chromatograph shall have simultaneous multiple detector capability; a
capillary stainless steel inlet system with electronic pneumatic
control (EPC) to provide digital control of column head pressure,
column flow rate, split ratio and all other pneumatic parameters.
Detectors shall include Flame Ionization and Nitrogen-Phosphorus all
with EPC and an automated liquid samplerwith GC-MS interface. All
components shall be interfaced and controlled from a data system. The
system shall include a Chromatography and Mass Spectral Library for 300
pesticide compounds on CD-ROM built by actual runs on an instrument of
this type. Detailed specifications will be released with the Request
for Quotation (RFQ). The RFQ will be released on 2/18/99 with a due
date for quotations of 3/5/99. This acquisition will be performed
according to Simplified Acquisition Procedures (FAR Part 13). Requests
to receive a copy of the RFQ can be mailed to Contracts Management
