65 -- RADIOCHEMICAL 123I SODIUM IODIDE SOL RFQ 689-28-99 DUE 020999 POC Bruce Fortuna, Contracting Officer, (203) 937-3078 This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Sub part 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation No. 689-28-99 is issued as a request for quotation. Solicitation documents and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-07. Standard Industrial Classification Code 2819 applies to this procurement. The small business size standard is 1000 employees. The contractor shall provide multiple shipments (FOB Destination) of the Radiochemical Iodine, I-123 -- Sodium Iodide over a one year period. Isotope shall be pre calibrated for noon ET on the day following shipment. Delivered activity -- Nominal amount read in dose calibrator on 123I setting. Delivery time shall be by 9:00am ET on day of calibration. Lead time for orders shall be by ll:00am ET day before calibration. The radio nuclidic purity shall be greater than 99.8% 123I. Specific activity -- No-carrier-added. Radiochemical purity shall be greater than 95% iodide (I-). Volatile release of 123I shall be less than 5%. Packaging shall be in 1-2ml V-vial with Teflon lined septum. NaOH content shall be less than 0.1mmol (equivalent to 1mL 0.1M NaOH). Specific concentration shall be greater than 100 mCi/mL. All deliveries are to be made directly to Building 6, Room B224, VA Connecticut Healthcare System, West Haven Campus, 950 Campbell Avenue, West Haven, CT, 06516. Shipments are affected Monday through Wednesday of each week by telephoning before 1100 hours ET on day of shipment.
