E-MAIL: Stephanie D. Hunter, stephanie.d.hunter1@jsc.nasa.gov. NASA/JSC plans to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for testing and data analysis of a Multi-Stage Vacuum Rotary Distiller. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). NASA/JSC intends to purchase the items from AlliedSignal Aerospace Equipment Systems. The Multi-Stage Vacuum Rotary Distiller is a Russian built system originally designed for treatment of pretreated urine. AlliedSignal has an exclusive agreement in place to lease and test the unit. Technical data packages, specifications, and engineering descriptions are only available through AlliedSignal because the hardware is owned by NICHHIMASH, a Russian company, and full hardware details are company proprietary. The Government does not intend to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. See Note 26. See Note 22. A determination by the Government to not compete this proposed effort on a full and open competitive basis, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
