combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in
accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6 and 13.5 as supplemented
with additional information included in this notice. This announcement
constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and
a written solicitation will not be issued. The only approved source for
this solicitation is Allison Engine. Co., Indianapolis, IN 46206, FSCM:
63005, Solicitation F41608-99-Q-46009 is issued as a reqest for
quotation (RFQ). Contract line item 0001 is for 266 EA, Rear Turbine
Bearing Support, NSN:2840008931321RW, P/N: 23005961. Size/Dimensions:
24 x 14 x 14 inches. Form/Fit/Function: Secures the turbine vane case
and houses bearing cage, lab seal, and cone exhaust inner. It has seven
tangetial sruts which support and position the inner shell in relation
to the outer shell. The main purpose of rear turbine bearing support
is to guide exhaust gases into the aircraft tailpipe. Predominant
Material: Steel. Delivery: Jun 99 to Kelly AFB, TX. Inspection and
Acceptance at Origin. Offers for this solicitation will be accepted via
facsimile or email until 12 noon on 1 Feb 99. All potential offerors
should contact the buyer/PCO identified in this notice for additional
information and/or to communicate concerns, if any, concerning this
acquisition. If your concerns are not satisfied by the contracting
officer, an Ombudsman has been appointed to hear concerns from offerors
or potential offerors during the proposal development phase of an
acquisition. The Ombudsman does not diminish the authority of the
program director or Contracting Officer, but communicates Contractor
concerns, issues, disagreements, and recommendations to the appropriate
Government personnel. When requested, the Ombudsman shall maintain
strict confidentially as to the source of the concern. The Ombudsman
does not participate in the evaluation of proposals or in the source
