Herchak, Contracting Officer The USDA, Agricultural Research Service (ARS) requires a contractor to provide all labor, supervision, tools and materials necessary to accomplish improvements to an existing waste water treatment plant at the Plum Island Animal Disease Center in Plum Island, NY. The Plum Island Animal Disease Center is a quarantine research and diagnostic facility on Plum Island, New York, which is 1-1/2 miles off the north fork of Long Island, New York. Transportation incidental to performance of this project will be provide by Government-furnished boats. The work includes demolition, reconstruction, and installation of all process piping, site and electrical work, plus testing of the new work in accordance with the terms, conditions, specifications and drawings contained in Solicitation No. IFB 05-3615-99 to be available on or about February 12, 1999. The estimated cost of construction is between $1,000,000 and $2,000,000. The Standard Industrial Class (SIC) code is 1629 with a business size of $13.5 million. The project must be completed 270 days after receipt of notice to proceed.
