Ferris, Contracting Officer (301)227-3602 The Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division (NSWCCD) proposes to issue a sole-source procurement to Electric Boat Division of General Dynamics (EBCorp) for submarine design, assessment and manufacturing expertise. EBCorp will provide a mix of nuclear submarine naval architecture, marine engineering, systems and subsystems engineering, designs and arrangements, construction expertise, specialized hardware items, technology impact assessments, cost assessments and other technical support available only from designers and manufacturers of submarines for the U.S. Navy. The technical areas covered under this contract will include the great majority of technologies and analysis capabilities within the purview of NSWCCD as they relate to submarine vehicles and programs. Within the submarine community CDNSWC is a principal government contributor of Hull, Machinery and Electrical (HM&E) technology for insertion into existing, new construction and conceptual submarines. The services will provide unique shipbuilder knowledge, skills and technical perspectives relating to submarine design and construction. In particular, these services will rely on experience with the SSN726 (TRIDENT), SSN688 (LOS ANGLES) and SSN774 (Virginia) class submarines.
