POTENTIAL OFFERORS WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR DOWNLOADING THEIR OWN COPY
OF THE SOLICITATION AND AMENDMENTS. The Cancer Information Service
Branch (CISB), located in the Office of the Director, National Cancer
Institute (NCI), operates a toll-free telephone service
(1-800-4-CANCER)for patients, their families, the general public, and
health professionals. The CIS also has a Partnership Program that works
with organizations to reach people who do not have easy access to
cancer information and services. In addition, the CIS plays an
important role in cancer control research by helping study ways to
promote healthier behaviors and communicate cancer information
effectively. Each regional office shall: -- Operate a toll free
telephone service (1-800-4-CANCER). -- Operate a CIS Partnership
Program (by providing cancer information and program assistance to
organizations in the region to reach people with limited access to
cancer information and services). -- Participate in/conduct cancer
control/health communication research. -- Perform the work in
accordance with the standards, policies, and procedures of the National
Cancer Institute. CIS contractors shall serve one of the following
geographic regions: (01) NEW ENGLAND: Connecticut, Maine,
Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Vermont (02) NEW YORK (03)
ATLANTIC: Delaware, New Jersey, Pennsylvania (04) MID ATLANTIC:
Washington, DC, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia (05) SOUTH EAST:
Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina (06) MID SOUTH: Alabama,
Arkansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee (07) COASTAL:
Florida, Puerto Rico, US Virgin Island (08) MIDWEST: Indiana, Michigan,
Ohio (09) HEARTLAND: Illinois, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska (10) NORTH
CENTRAL: Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota (11) SOUTH
CENTRAL: Oklahoma, Texas (12) ROCKY MOUNTAIN: Arizona, Colorado,
Montana, New Mexico, Utah, Wyoming (13) PACIFIC: Alaska, Hawaii, Idaho,
Nevada, Oregon, Washington (14) CALIFORNIA The anticipated solicitation
issue date is on or about February 10, 1999. Proposals will be due
approximately 30 days after the issue date. The Standard Industrial
Classification (SIC) Code is 8099. It is anticipated that each region
