This approximate 40,000 square foot building formerly used as a commissary (supermarket) facility will be renovated into a retail store for sales of furniture, appliances and garden supplies. All interior finishes, plumbing and lighting fixtures will be demolished and replaced. The HVAC systems will be replaced. The existing fire protection sprinkler and alarm system, and PA/background music system will be altered to suit the new work. Portions of the facility will remain occupied during construction. Optional bid items include minor renovations to building 3725 (the existing exchange), construction of a canopy over the courtyard between buildings 3725 and 2727, and construction of exterior garden center fabricated canopy structures. The magnitude of construction is between $1 million and $5 million. The Invitation for Bid package will be available on or about 2 February 1999. Time for project completion is 180 calendar days.
