Phillips, (305) 278-6723 SYNOPSIS: Work includes furnishing all labor,
tools, equipment and materials required to provide interior
renovations, roof replacement and repair, HVAC equipment replacement,
electrical systems upgrade and the cleaning and painting of the roof
top mounted Vessel Traffic System (VTS) communication tower at the USCG
Marine Safety Office (MSO) Houston-Galveston. The combined projects
includes the partial renovation of the first and second floors of the
Command Building which includes: providing office space; a male and
female restrooms at the second floor; providing an accessible route for
the disabled to the renovated male and female restrooms at the first
floor; the work shall also include HVAC equipment replacement throught
the structure and related electrical systems. The renovation of the
eastern wing of the Administration Building includes: providing
offices, weight training and medical rooms; male and female restrooms;
showers and locker rooms; HVAC equipment replacement and related
electrical systems. The work includes the replacement of the Command
and Admministration building roofs and the repair of the Galley roof.
The completion of this project shall include all incidental related
work and as shown. The Contractor shall provide temporary utilities and
maintiain two pre-engineered trailers, for the exclusive use of the
Coast Guard personnel during construction. Trailer "A" shall be 30 foot
by 12 foot configured for male and female restrooms and showers.
Trailer "B" shall be 42 foot by 14 foot configured for general office
space with a unisex restroom. The estimated price range is between
$500,000.00 and $1,000,000.00. A $30.00 charge will be assessed for the
plans and specifications. Interested parties should send their request
for the plans and specifications together with a Cashier's check or
money order made out to The United States Coast Guard. This project was
Pre-solicited on 9 December 1999. Bidders who previously reqested plans
and specifications and submitted a check need not resubmit their
request. The solicitation will be issued pursuant to the Small Business
Competitiveness Demonstration Program and is open to large and small
business participation. All responsible sources may submit a bid, which
will be considered by this agency. Bid guarantee, payment and
performance bonds are required. No telephone requests; only written
requests received directly from the requestor will be accepted.
