Z -- BRYAN, TX 77802-9998 -- GENERAL MAIL FACILITY SOL 482980-99-A-0620 DUE 021299 POC Samuel Curtis Gaddis, Project Manager, 214/819-7205 This solicitation is for refurbishment of cooling tower(s), retrofit or replacement of chiller(s), retrofit of chiller piping, renovation of mechanical room exhaust or cooling, miscellaneous electrical work to support the chiller retrofit, the addition or upgrade of doors and hardware leading to chiller space(s), and associated renovation, (including demolition, new CMU walls, new housekeeping pads, cutting and patching, firestopping, sealant, etc.) at the General Mail Facility, Bryan, Texas. Chiller refrigerant shall be 134a. Estimated cost range $400,000 -- $425,000 and construction time is 180 calendar days. Successful offeror must submit their Subcontracting Plan for Small and Minority-Owned, and Woman-Owned Business initially and thereafter with their progress payment requests. The contractor must subcontract with minority business firms in an amount aggregating not less than 10% and subcontract with woman-owned business firms in an amount not less than 7% of the total value of its subcontracts. Offeror must include documentation from bonding agent indicating offeror's capability at time offer is due. The successful contractor will be required to provide 100% Performance and 50% Payment Bonds within forty-eight (48) hours after notification of award. Offers will be received in this office, prior to, but not later than 3:30 p.m. on February 12, 1999. This is a request for proposals, therefore, no public opening will be conducted. The number of offers received, the identity of the offerors, the amount of any one offer, or relative standing of offeror will no longer be disclosed due to the new performance evaluation factors as outlined in the Solicitation package. The Postal Service will award a contract resulting from this solicitation to the responsible offeror whose proposal conforming to the solicitation offers the best value to the Postal Service.
