COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF JANUARY 15,1999 PSA#2263U.s. Department Of The Treasury, Procurement Services Div., 1500
Pennsylvania Ave., Nw, Room 1310g, Washington, Dc 20220 99 -- LOGISTIC, COMPUTER, AND RELOCATION SUPPORT SERVICES DUE 020199
POC Deirdre Eischens, 202-622-2341 The Department of Treasury provides
technical assistance to countries with emerging economies and
economies in transition throughout the world. The Treasury's assistance
efforts are implemented by the placement of personal services
contractors who provide advice and expertise to host Governments in
order to help implement developmental reform. These advisors require
logistical support which includes providing furnished living
accommodations (apartments or houses) and utilities; administrative
support (including the provision of administrative assistants and
assistance in securing customs clearance of household goods and
privately owned vehicle, local licenses, and other types of permits);
providing and supporting office computers and other related equipment;
temporary housing for the advisor and/or family; and such other
support (car/driver services, translating services, conference support,
and express mail services) as is necessary to maintain an acceptable
living and working situation which is comparable to other US Government
employees stationed in the same host country. The Contractor shall also
support foreign nationals participating in Government-sponsored
activities both in the US and other countries. The Contractor shall on
occasion make assessment trips to new potential countries to identify
available logistic support resources, and to gather data on
circumstances affecting the logistic operations. Treasury is interested
in receiving information regarding the provision of such logistic
services and a technical plan as to the most cost efficient and
effective manner in which such services may be provided given the
nature of the local markets in which Treasury operates. Information is
requested about, but not limited to the following services: Providing
living accommodations (leases for apartments or houses), utilities,
administrative support (including the provision of administrative staff
and assistance in customs clearance, local licenses, and other types of
permits; interpretation/translation services); providing and supporting
office computers and other office equipment as well as US Government
property management systems; shipment and storage of household effects;
and travel and lodging support for study tours and conferences. It is
requested that interested vendors provide a written response to this
request for information regarding contractor provided logistic
services. Please submit your written response within 30 calendar days
of this notice. This synopsis is for information and planning purposes
only, does not constitute a solicitation, and shall not be construed
as a commitment by the Government. Three copies of a capabilities
statement must be received not later than thirty days from publication
of this synopsis. All responses will be reviewed/evaluated. Sources
deemed qualified will receive a RFP if one is issued. See Note:
