99 -- CUSTODIAL SERVICES POC Ms. Suzanne Tragesser, (703) 806-4607 The Military District of Washington Acquisition Center (MDWAC), Fort Belvoir, Virginia intends to issue a solicitation to provide custodial services to government facilities. This includes providing adequate management, labor, materiel, supplies, transportation, equipment, planning, scheduling, coordinating and an office/storage for custodial equipment and office administration in support of the MDW community (Forts: McNair, Washington, DC, Meade, MD, Myer, VA, Hamilton, NY, A.P. Hill, VA, Belvoir, VA, and Natinal Defense University, Washington, DC). This service includes cleaning of designated buildings on each installation. Contractor personnel may be required to obtain and maintain the appropriate level of security clearance, if applicable. Period of performance will be for the base period and four, twelve-month option years. The Period of performance will be based on the current year's budget and the needs of the requiring activity at the time of contract award. This proposed procurement is not to preclude the utilization of Small Business Set-Aside. The Standard Industrial Classificatin Code (SIC) for this procurement is 7349. This Request for Information (RFI) does not constitute an Invitation for Bid or a Request for Proposal. Any procurement action for custodial services will be the subject of a separate, future announcement. All responses to this RFI, to include questions and comments, are to be submitted to the MDWAC not later than 18 FEB 99. This procurement action could result in either single or multiple contract award(s). Based on industry response to the RFI, a solicitation will be available via the Internet on or about 23 APR 99. The evaluation of the responses to this RFI will be based on the ability of the respondent to satisfy the government's requirement. The goverment will not reimburse the respondent for any costs associated with information submitted and is under not obligation to award any related contract associated with this RFI.
