The USPS Dallas Purchasing & Materials Service Center is seeking
information from interested parties on a battery management program
whereby various non-automotive batteries could be purchased,
maintained, and properly disposed of after their useful life is
exhausted. Battery applications would consist of those used in 2-way
radios, wireless telephones, laptop computers, and camcorders. This is
only a sources sought request at this time -- no contract award is
anticipated, and no money will be spent at this time. This is an effort
to locate sources capable of nationwide management of those batteries
in the above categories, used by the postal service. We seek volume
purchase discounts, and seek those companies able to demonstrate the
postal service's ommitment to protecting the environment and setting
the proper example as a responsible member of corporate America, as
well as the federal government. Posted 01/08/99 (W-SN286490). (0008) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0245 19990112\99-0002.SOL)
