NASA/JSC plans to issue a Request for Offer (RFO) for the development, manufacture, test and delivery of four Flight Model units of the X-38 S-Band Power Amplifier which meet the requirements of JSC Document 28413, 'X-38 S-Band Power Amplifier Specification'. There will be an option for an additional four Flight Model units. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. The provisions and clauses in the RFO are those in effect through FAC 97-07. The SIC code and the small business size standard for this procurement are 3769 and 1000 employees respectively. The anticipated release date of the RFO is on or about January 12, 1999 with an anticipated offer due date of on or about February 12, 1999. All qualified responsible business sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. Delivery of the hardware under the basic contract to JSC is required within six months of contract award. Delivery shall be FOB Destination. The DPAS rating for this procurement is DO-C9. An ombudsman has been appointed -- See Internet Note "B". The solicitation and any documents related to this procurement will be available over the Internet.
