are being sought for eventual qualification as suppliers. This is not
a Request for Proposal or Invitation for Bid. The F-16 support office
is considering replacement of an existing, low reliability 1750A
central processor unit (CPU). This CPU is used in the F-16 block 30 and
40 AN/APG-68 radar programmable signal processor (PSP). The CPU
contains a three-processor type architecture consisting of two
MIL-STD-1750A general purpose CPU's and a direct memory access
controller. The non-volatile addressable memory is currently sized at
512K words of fixed storage for PSP programs. The RAM is sized at 128K
words of temporary storage for current operating mode program,
intermediate results, and computed data. The Air Force would like to
replace this CPU with a new design that will be compatible with the
existing software and interfaces, much more reliable and economical to
purchase. It is also desired that it be able to address 1 Meg of ROM
and 1 Meg of RAM. Engineering specifications can be viewed onthe
internet at
http:/contracting.hill.af.mil/html/signalpro/signalprohp.htm. Written
responses, to include a brief conceptual description and a cost
estimate for a quantity of 1,500 replacement units, should be submitted
by 28 JAN. 99, to: OO-ALC/BC, ATTN: Phil Edmunds, 6038 Aspen Ave., Hill
