The F-16 support office is considering replacement of an existing, low reliability 1750A central processor unit (CPU). This CPU is used in the F-16 block 30 and 40 AN/APG-68 radar programmable signal processor (PSP). The CPU contains a three-processor type architecture consisting of two MIL-STD-1750A general purpose CPU's and a direct memory access controller.
