Walker, 401-736-1766 This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for
commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Federal
Acquisition Regulation (FAR)Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with
additional information included in this notice. This announcement
constitutes only the solicitation; proposals are being requested and a
written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation
DTCGG1-99-Q-3WK061 is issued as a REquest for Quotation (RFQ).
Solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those
in effect through Federal Acquistion Circular 90-45. The Standard
INdustrial Code (SIC) for this procurement is 3537 and the small
business standard size is 750 employees. Requirement is for 6500 lb
capacity, Mast: Two stage high visibility mast, maximum fork height 130
inches, with six degree tilt forward and rearward. Fork size: 2" x 5"
x 42" with load backrest extension. CAB: All weather, with top front,
side, and rear windows, removal doors, with key locks and liding
windows. Front and rear washinger and wipers. heater, defroster, fan,
fire extinquisher and dome light. An instrument panel shall be in the
perator's compartment, the panel shall include gauges to monitor the
engine coolant temperature, transmission temperature, amount of fuel,
and hour meter. The panel shall also include monitor lights for the
engine oil pressure, alternator voltage output and break fluid levels.
Engine: Diesel engine 2.6-liter minimim. Engine shall operate atleast
2 functions (lift & title)and propelling the lift truck forward or
backward simultaneously without loss of power. Transmision: One speed
automatic of the power shift type. Hydraulics: Hydraulic levers shall
operate all lifting functions. The lever should be operated in the
operator's compartment. Tire: Pneumatic type. BRAKES: Service brakes
shall be self-adjusting hydraulic and parking brakes shall be
mechanical. Lights: Two headlights,two stop; taillights; four flood
work lights; two forward and two aft; and flashing safety light. Lights
should e protected from damage during normal operations.Safety:
forklift shall be equipped with an electronic backup alarm that sounds
when the truck is shifted into reverse. The operator seat shall be
provided with a seat belt. The forklift is to be delivered to Naval
Engineering Support Unit Boston, Newport, RI. Delivery is required no
later than 75 days after Notice of Award. The provision at FAR
52.212-1, INSTRUCTIONS TO OFFERORS-COMMERCIAL, applies to applies to
this acquisition and a statement regarding any addenda to the
provision. The government anticipates award of a firm fixed-price

letterhead for the requested item, showing the solicitation number, and
price of forklift along with delivery cost, and delivery date, and a
completed copy of FAR 52.212-3, Offeror, Representations and
Certifications-Commercial Items. Those companies not in possession of
the clause in full text may contact this office and a copy will be
faxed to you. Offers are required to be submitted by close of business
February 11, 1999. NOTE: The quoter shall furnish as part of its quote
all descriptive literature and technical data necessary for technical
personnel to determine whether the products offered meets the
