FOURTH PHASE FREASIBILITY OF CARBON DIOXIDE DISPOSAL IN DEEP SALINE AQUIFERS IN THE MIDWEST DESC: The U.S. Department of Energy's Federal Energy Technology Center (FETC), Pittsburgh, PA intends to award a fixed priced purchase order to Battelle Memorial Institute, Columbus, OH to continue the fourth phase evaluation of feasibility of CO2 disposal in a deep saline aquifer in the midwestern United States. The major focus of this phase of work will be on the incorporation of the previously compiled data into reservoir simulation and geochemical models to determine hydrodynamic, geochemical, and environmental constraints on CO2 injection in the saline aquifers. This request is considered sole source to Battelle Memorial Institute. Therefore, no solicitation will result from this announcement. This award shall be made using simplified acquisition procedures.
