The Army Researach Laboratory, (ARL) Survivability/Lethality Analysis Directorate (SLAD), Air and Missile Defense Branch is seeking sources for 2 types of amplifiers. Existing designs are desired; however, limited non-recurring engineering costs (NRE) may be considered. These rf power amplifiers will be used in an airborne environment. The general characteristics are: 1) prime power 28 vdc (nominal); 2) frequency range: 32 to 36 GHz; 3) bandwidth 1 GHz minimum and 4 GHz desired; 4) rf small signal gain 27 db (minimum); 5) rf output power 4 watts (low power model) and 40 watts (high power model); 6) cooling: conduction or forced air. Firms should have appropriate background capability and expertise in this area. The proposed contract is expected to be a firm-fixed-price type. Interested firms must submit in accordance with numbered Note 25, the particulars of their experience, capabilities, and background pertinent to this procurement. The closeing date of submission of particulars is 15 days after publication of this synopsis. Firms responding must indicate size status as appropriate. Respondents of this notice will not be notified of the results of the evaluation of information submitted. This synopsis if for information and planning puropses only, and does not constitute a solicitation for bids or proposals, and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Govermnent. The Government willl not pay for any effort expended in responding to this synopsis. No solicitation documents are available at this time.
