DESC: The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to issue an order under Basic Ordering Agreement N00019-97-G-0167 with McDonnell Douglas Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, PO Box 516, St. Louis, MO 62166-0516, to redesign obsolete SRAs contained in the AN/APG-73 radar which is integral to the F/A-18 aircraft. McDonnell Douglas Corporation is the designer, developer, and sole manufacturer of the F/A-18 aircraft, and is the only known firm possessing adequate existing knowledge, facilities, tooling, and special test equipment to integrate a radar redesign into the F/A-18 aircraft in a timely manner.
