This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial item prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This is a sole source procurement with the Chemical Abstracts Service, 2540 Olentagy River Road, Columbus, OH 43210-0334 because they are the sole supplier that produce the CAS registry numbers. The solicitation number is 53SBNB960016 and the solicitation is issued as a request for quotation (RFQ). The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-6. This action is being done under Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The standard industrial classification (SIC) code is 8621 and the small business size standard is $5 million dollars. CLIN 0001: CASRN Validation Services up to 150,000 compounds to include confirmation of the validity of CSRNs for five years as well as the authority to distribute these CSRNs with NIST reference databases in perpetuity; CLIN 0002: CASRN Lookup for 120,000 Chemical Structures, Report CASRN for all compounds, including all stereoisomers, from submitted chemical structure files; CLIN 0003 CASRN Names for 120,000 CASRNs. For each CSRNs above corresponding to structures without NIST-assigned CASRNs. The period of performance shall be 5 years from the effective date of the contract.
