Carol Murphy 612-725-2190 The Minneapolis VA Medical Center is
soliciting proposals by firms capable of providing a Cost Management
Program. We are looking for a contractor capable of identifying cost
reduction opportunities in the acquisition and utilization of medical
and surgical supplies. Contractor to provide advice on how to reduce
costs in clinical programs especially surgical service, through
standardization and utilization. Proposed recommendations will
complement and not conflict with existing DVA acquisition and
standardization programs, and meet appropriate clinical practice
guidelines as determined by a steering committee composed of an equal
number of Minneapolis VA and contractor staff. Reductions must be equal
to or greater than the contractor's fee. Contract period will be one
year from date of award. A major evaluation factor will be
demonstrating a proven track record in reducing medical and surgical
supply costs. A Pre-Bid conference will be scheduled. SIC 8741
Management Services with a small business classification of $5.0
million applies. Solicitation documents will be available on or about
January 15, 1999; request in writing or by FAX to 612-725-2072.
Requests for solicitation documents will be accepted until January 15,
1999, or until 50 requests are received, whichever is earlier. Posted
