C -- WAREHOUSING AND WAREHOUSING SERVICES SOL RFP 18-M-APHIS-99 DUE 021199 POC Patricia Harris (612) 370-2128 C -- USDA, APHIS, VS is soliciting interested parties to provide commercial warehouse space and warehousing services in the Kansas City, Metro Area. The Government estimates warehouse square footage needs of 1) 25,000 sq. feet fixed and 2) up to 15,000 sq. feet variable will be necessary. Our current services include warehouse space warehouse workers, shelving, pulling, packing, shipping, and inventory management with computer on-line capabilities. The Government is in the process of contracting for a just-in-time inventory system for cattle and swine backtags which are major supply items currently stored at the Kansas City Federal facility. If the Government successfully awards the backtag contracts with the provision of just-in-time inventory, the variable square footage will not be needed under this contract. The Contractor will breakdown incoming pallet shipments when necessary and repalletize in numerical order before stocking. The perspective contractor will be required to process all orderswithin a two-day turn around from day received to day shipped. The contractor will use UPS, FEDERAL EXPRESS and RPS. The Contractor shall provide office space for three APHIS employees. All warehouse office space will meet strict O.S.H.A. safety standards. A site visit will be scheduled at a later date. This procurement is set aside 100% for a small business. Contract period is for 1 (one) year with the option to extend for 4 (four) additional year.
