amends the previously posted synopsis on Tuesday, December 8, 1998 for
A/E Design Services, New Federal Courthouse, Eugene, Oregon. As stated
in the original synopsis during Stage I the Lead Designer is to submit
a copy of their Portfolio for review. The clarification is: The Lead
Designer shall submit (1) copy of their Portfolio in Stage I. Also,
evaluation factors and their percentages have been amended as follows:
1. Documentation of up to 3 outstanding projects within the past 10
years by the Lead Designer (30%). 2. Documentation of up to 3
outstanding projects within the past 10 years developed by the Lead
Design Firm/s (30%). For the above two evaluation factors each shall
have one typewritten page with a description of each project. The
description should include examples of how the client's operational,
budgetary and quality objectives were accomplished with each project.
Unique aspects of each project should also be addressed, such as energy
conservation, sustainability or other examples of environmental
excellence. Up to three 8 x 10 inch illustrations may be used for each
project. In addition, awards, publications, notices, peer recognition
or any other documentation exemplifying design excellence for the
projects may be submitted. 3. A written statement of intent by the Lead
Designer (25%). Overall design philosophy. Understanding and approach
to the design issues. Philosophy for approaching the design of this
particular project. Commitment to this project. Maximum two pages. 4.
Lead Designer biographical information (15%). Education, professional
experience, recognition for design efforts inclusive of examples above,
and description of areas of responsibility. Maximum five pages. All
other information remains unchanged. Please refer to the original
announcement for additional information regarding Stages II & III.
Attendance at the presubmittal meeting scheduled for January 11, 1998
at the Jury Assembly Room, US Federal Building, 211 East Seventh
Avenue, Eugene, Oregon isnot mandatory but strongly encouraged. A web
