The overall objectives of the procurement are : (1) to determine species composition and abundance of passerine bird species utilizing the same habitat type as that utilized by the Willow Flycatcher; and (2) determine the reproductive success, and the factors influencing it, of passerine bird species utilizing the same habitat as that utilized by the Willow Flycatcher. Emphasis is to be given to the effects of parasitism and predation. The Contractor shall be required to develop a study plan which includes data collection and activity reporting and perform the study which includes bird surveys and nest monitoring programs to achieve those goals. These studies shall be performed in various locations within the Lower Colorado, Muddy, and Virgin River basins. The proposed contract time is one calendar year plus four 1-year option periods. Total contract time is not to exceed five years. Companies who responded to the Sources-Sought CBD Notice for this project, published in September 1998, do NOT need to respond to this notice.
