TACOM intends through Solicitation #DAAE07-99-R-L005 to establish an Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (ID-IQ) contract for the armoring of commercial vehicles to the 9mm protection level (NIJ, Level III-A). Commercial vehicles will be provided as GFP to the contractor, who will then modify the vehicles to meet the protection performance requirement. The basic vehicle protection package includes horizontal protection only. Priced options will be included for additional protection (roof & floor), and other miscellaneous vehicle features. The solicitation and resulting contract(s) awarded will be under FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items. A Best-Value source selection will be conducted. The Government reserves the right to make multiple awards, and anticipates a 5-year duration of ordering authority for the resulting contract(s). The solicitation will not be available in hard-copy, and such requests will not be honored. Instead, interested sources are directed to the website below, where they may view & print, if desired. If you actually submit a proposal, however, that must be in writing, and the solicitation provides instructions for complete proposal submittal & content. The solicitation should be available (i.e., released) within five business days following posting of this notice. At present, this time lag is unpredictable. Therefore, it is the responsibility of any and all interested sources to access the website for themselves, and/or continue checking until the solicitation is actually posted.
