The work to be performed includes modifying exiting spillways at Canyon Ferry Dam and Angostura Dam to accommodate stoplogs. Work at Canyon Ferry Dam includes: 1) fabricating and delivering stoplogs, 2) furnishing and installing stoplog seats and guides, and 3) test installing the set of stoplogs. Work at Angostura Dam includes 1) fabricating and delivering one top stoplog, 2) furnishing and installing stoplog seats and guides, and 3) test installing one top stoplog. Installation of the stoplog seats and guides at both jobsites will be performed mostly or entirely underwater. The specifications assume that diving will be required. The estimated price of the work is $1,000,001 to $5,000,000. The work is located at two sites: Canyon Ferry Dam on the Missouri River approximately 17 miles northeast of Helena, MT, in Lewis and Clark County, and Angostura Dam on the Cheyenne River, approximately 9 miles southeast of Hot Springs, South Dakota, in Fall River County. Solicitation packages are anticipated to be available February 19, 1999. The bid opening is tentatively scheduled for march 23, 1999, at the Bureau of Reclamation, 316 North 26th Street, Room 2031 Federal Building, Billings, Montana. The contract is to be completed by no later than September 30, 2000. There is no charge for the first copy of the solicitation; additional sets will be provided upon receipt of a nonrefundable check or money order of $9.00 each.
