39 -- PURCHASE/LEASE OF FORKLIFTS DUE 012099 POC Ms. Lee Kerr, 703-784-5822 ext. 249 The United States Marine Corps (USMC) is interested in obtaining information from any industrial source for the purchasing or leasing of 588 rough terrain forklifts (RTFL) with and without worldwide maintenance. The RTFL must enter standard 8'X8'X20' ISO containers, shall have a capacity of 3,000 pounds at a load center of 24 inches, with a 6,000 pounds capacity at a 24 inch load center desired, maximum width of 90 inches, maximum length of 200 inches, maximum height of 73 inches, and maximum weight of 13,000 pounds. It must have all wheel drive, an automatic transmission, diesel fuel engine, and maximum curb steer of 28 feet. The RTFL must be capable of operating on unprepared surfaces and rough terrain. The RTFL will be used to unstuff ammunition containers and to load and unload pallets onto a trailer chassis. Potentential sources are requested to send a letter of interest and capability, along with brochures and other descriptive literature to the Marine Corps Systems Command, by 20 Jan 1999. This is not a request for proposal. No contract will be awarded on basis of response hereto, nor to any follow up information subsequently solicited. The USMC will not reimburse costs incurred by prospective sources while acting to satisfy this request.
