The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to negotiate a contract with cost plus fixed fee pricing arrangements with McDonnell Douglas Corporation (MDC), a wholly owned subsidiary of the Boeing Company, P. O. Box 516, St. Louis, MO 63166-0516. The contract is to procure enhancements of Organizational, Intermediate and Depot level Support Equipment for the Integrated Logistics Program for the F/A-18E/F aircraft. In support of the aircraft, this contract will procure sustaining engineering/ logistics support. In addition, training systems will be updated to the F/A-18E configuration. MDC will do further integration of the F/A-18E/F aircraft into the Automated Maintenance Environment. MDC is the designer, developer, and sole manufacturer of the F/A-18 E/F aircraft. MDC is the only known firm possessing the adequate existing facilities, special test equipment and requisite knowledge of the aircraft Support Equipment interfaces, and thus the only contractor able to perform this requirement in a timelymanner.
