The Bureau of the Census (BOC) is seeking to conduct a market survey for laptop computers in support of the Integrated Coverage Measurement (ICM) Survey. The laptops will be used to collect respondent information and transmit the information to a central communications system located at the BOC headquarters. The numbers and types of laptops that are identified through this market survey will help the BOC in selecting an acquisition strategy for acquiring the quantities necessary to support this program. For the purposes of this market survey a range of 9,000 to 24,000 laptops is necessary to conduct the data collection effort. The ICM Project Agreement (PA) will be made available on the Internet on or about December 21, 1998 at: http://www.census.gov/procur/www/icm.html. The BOC may make acquisition milestones available after it conducts the market survey and preliminary systems testing.
