Y -- CONSTRUCTION OF A 847 SQUARE METER FACILITY TO HOUSE BIOLOGICAL SPECIMENS IN LIQUID NITROGEN AND MECHANICAL FREEZERS SOL 1999N00005 POC Edward J. The successful contractor must provide all necessary labor, materials, and equipment required to construct an 847 square meter storage facility to be located at the CDC Chamblee, Georgia, campus. The exterior of the building will be constructed of load bearing brick and block cavity walls on a continuous concrete footings. The roof will be supported by exterior bearing walls, interior steel columns, steel bar joists, and metal deck with rigid insulation. The roof will be a modified bituminous built-up roofing. The interior of the building will have painted gypsum wallboard partitions. Interior finishes are lay-in acoustical ceiling tiles, in the offices, laboratory and corridor; sealed concrete floors in the freezer, mechanical, electric, shop, LAN/telephone, and autoclave rooms; vinyl composition tile in the toilet, office, corridor, and laboratory rooms. In addition to the above, the Solicitation will include one Option Item, which requires the successful contractor to provide and install a chiller. The estimated price range for this project is between 1.0 and 5.0 million dollars. A bid bond will be required and the successful contractor will be required to provide payment and performance bonds.
