59 -- BALLISTIC FIRING TEST SET FOR THE 2.75 INCH HYDRA 70 ROCKET SYSTEM SOL DAAE30-99-R-0204 DUE 010799 POC Patricia A. Regelski, Contracting Officer 973-724-3832 WEB: US ARMY TACOM-ARDEC Procurement Network, http://procnet.pica.army.mil/cbd/SRCSgt/121019980/121019980.htm. E-MAIL: Mary Lou Desseaux, mdess@pica.army.mil. The U.S. Government is seeking to procure two Ballistic Firing Test Sets(BFTS) for use when firing 2.75 in. HYDRA 70 Rockets. The BFTS will fire rockets with remote set fuzes (M439/M433) and impact fuzes. The BFTS will utilize the latest technology in the Army s current Rocket Management System XM147, part no.12011877. The BFTS is used for ground firings during engineering, First Article and Lot Acceptance Testing (LAT) of 2.75 Inch Rockets. Two BFTS will be built during this effort. The BFTS is based on the Helicopter located XM147 Rocket Management System (RMS). The Government owns the Technical Data Package (TDP) for the XM147 RMS, but the software is proprietary to the XM147 producer. The RMS consists of display unit in the cockpit and two outboard units for the two rocket launchers. Each BFTS will use one display unit (DU) and two operational units (OU) and this duplicates the helicopter based RMS system. This field configured BFTS will also have features for Umbilical Continuity Testing and monitoring equipment for field usage (oscilloscope and camera). The system will be housed in two (2) portable metal enclosure carrying cases. Information is available on the current BFTS in use, Acceptance Test Plans for the BFTS, procurement of DU and OU boxes, the TDP for the XM147 RMS, quality provisions, and other information related to the BFTS. The projected period of performance is estimated to be from the 16st of February to the 3rd of May 1999. Response to this survey is to be limited to interested Small Businesses which have previous experience with the operation and maintenance of the existing BFTS currently used by the Army for rocket testing due to the short time frame in which these units are required.
