The Standard Industrial Classification Code (SIC) is 1542, General Contractors -- Nonresidential Buildings other than Industrial Buildings and Warehouses. The work includes construction of approximately 20,150 square foot, two story office and laboratory addition to the existing Tomahawk Weapon systems Development Laboratory, Building 1580. The addition is located to the south, immediately adjacent to the existing building and is connected to it on two levels. The addition contains computer lab space with access flooring, offices, toilet rooms, kitchen, conference room and mechanical/electrical spaces. Minor areas in the existing building shall be reconfigured to accommodate the new connections. Three existing office spaces are to be reduced in size to accommodate the new corridor connections. A new hundred plus space parking lot is located to the east of the existing parking lot and is connected by access roads. A new bioretention area is located further east of the new parking lot and incidental related work. This procurement will be conducted utilizing source selection procedures and will result in a firm fixed price contract. Evaluation of proposals will be based on price, and non-price items, including relevant experience, project manager/superintendent, contract administration/subcontracting. The cost for the plans and specifications is $140. Plans and Specifications will be available 17 December 1998 and may be purchased by check only, made payable to the "U.S. Treasurer".
