Under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 and 10 USC 2304(1) based on only one known source for this equipment. Primary functional requirement: GSA's client the Naval Special Warfare Mission Planning System (SWAMPS) is a mission critical program requiring the acquisition of various state of the art information technology components. The principal component of the SWAMPS suite is the Gateway 9100 Solo PII 266Mhz portable server computer. The peripherals that complete the suite include an Epson Stylus 800 Printer, a Lynksys 10/100 Hub and the appropriate CAT 5 UTP cable. These peripherals along with a limited (4-units) number of DesignJet 460c Plotters and Proxima DP9200 will support NSW's mission planning and command, control functions. Next day on-site warranty service is required for the above items. There is a reasonable basis to conclude that these needs can only be satisfied by Multiple Zones International. In order to satisfy the government's emergent requirements, immediate delivery is necessary. Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) is 3577 (1000 employees). This requirement will be purchased under FAR Part 12 -- Acquisition of Commercial Items. A commercial item is defined as any item, other than real property, that is of a type customarily used for non-governmental purposes and that has been sold, leased, or licensed to the general public. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals or quotations; however, all proposals received within 10-calendar days as a result of this synopsis will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
