Justice Programs (OJP), National Institute of Justice (NIJ) has a
requirement for services to support NIJ in planning for and managing
all phases of NIJ's extramural and intramural research, evaluation and
demonstration activities. The following tasks illustrate the general
nature of management services to be acquired: (1) Peer Review of
Applications; (2) Meetings & Other Related Consultant Assignments; (3)
Product Review; and (4) Data Management. Work assignments,
deliverables, documentation, etc., will be provided by Technical
Direction Letters. The contractor shall provide a full range of
services and direct and coordinate all support tasks; this encompasses
but is not limited to the following: maintaining an NIJ consultant
database; providing relevant names of possible consultants from the NIJ
database; determining selected consultants availability, obtaining
commitments, scheduling work and setting performance expectations;
providing meeting facilities, meals, and refreshments asrequired and
permitted; developing various letters, agendas, and other
documents/materials; copying documents and distributing them prior to
meetings; mailing various materials in consultation with NIJ staff;
providing quality control review and editing of all documents;
arranging for participant travel (transportation, lodging, meals,
etc.); providing reimbursement of travel costs and payment of any
consultant fees; providing written records of all meetings and
conferences. OJP envisions an incrementally funded cost-reimbursement
type of contract; the total duration of the contract, including
exercising any options, is anticipated to be three years. OJP
anticipates a Request for Proposal solicitation will be available
fifteen (15) days after this notice is published. Telephone inquiries
shall not be honored; however, firms intending to propose as a prime
contractor may submit a nonbinding letter of intent, which requests a
copy of the solicitation, to Mr. Richard A. Sites at
sitesr@ojp.usdoj.gov, by facsimile at 202-307-0086, or at the above
office address. Please reference the solicitation number and provide
company name, solicitation mailing address, point of contact, and
