leimbach2@llnl.gov. The University of California, Lawrence Livermore
National Laboratory (LLNL), operating under Prime Contract
W-7405-ENG.48 with the U. S. Department of Energy (DOE), intends to
subcontract for Architect Engineer (A-E) Design Services that include
Title I, Title II, and Title III. Optional A-E support services may
also be required. These services are required for the Terascale
Simulation Facility (TSF), located at Lawrence Livermore National
Laboratory. The Terascale Simulation Facility is a high security,
scalable facility for the next generation of super computers. The TSF
will occupy approximately 265,000 square feet of offices and two major
computer machine rooms (each at approximately 23,750 square feet and
having clear span of approximately 190 ft. x 125 ft.). The building has
power requirements in the range of 30-32 MW. The building also requires
substantial cooling capability. Selection will be limited to
Architect-Engineer Firms/Joint Ventures located in the continental
United States. Interested firms shall employ a minimum combined
full-time staff of 80 employees or more, and shall have an office
located in the Pacific Time Zone (within a flight time of 1-1/2 hours
from Oakland, CA). Interested firms shall demonstrate capabilities of
disciplines and expertise as follows: Architectural, Civil Engineering,
Electrical Engineering, Estimating, Landscaping, Mechanical
Engineering, Sustainable Building Design and Structural Engineering
with demonstrated experience in major power upgrades and mechanical
support utilities. Aggregation of disciplinary capabilities is allowed
if affiliations are through joint ventures, partnerships, consultant
agreements, corporate structure or other formal subcontracting
arrangements. Lead Architects and Engineers within the disciplines
assigned to the project shall have professional registration in the
State of California. Release of the project notice is contingent upon
receipt of appropriate DOE solicitation and funding approvals. The
project notice will be available on or about December 7, 1998, and may

p.m. (PST). Firms who meet the qualification requirements described in
the Project Notice and who wish to be considered will be required to
submit 7 copies of Standard Forms 254 and 255 with appropriate
