W -- LEASE OF OPTIFIL-II AUTOMATED PRESCRIPTION REFILL SYSTEM. The VAMC, Louisville, KY intends to negotiate sole source with Baxter IV Systems Division for the lease of one (1) Optifill II, Automated Prescription Bottle Filler Sytem. The system must be capable of interfacing with VA's VISTA computer system. Must process prescriptions in a patient order fashion and not as single bottles or prescriptions. System must provide maximal automation of all tasks associated with the prescription filling process such as auto select a properly sized bottle for specific drug volume; label all bottles with patient specific label; fill bottle with correct oral solid medication; auto affix a child-resistant cap to each bottle; sort bottles by patient and hold for placement into a patient specific order tote. The patient order tote must be collated to contain all bottles filled by the automation, labels for all other medications to be manually filled, receipts, patient information and/or mailing labels. The system must automatically deliver the filled totes to the appropriate manual fill or pharmacy check areas. The system must be capable of counting at least 300 different oral solid medications. The system must have technology for QA tracking and for electronic verification of the medication being dispensed in a bottle without requiring removal of the cap. The system must be capable of the following power requirements 208V, 3-phase, y-connector, 30-amp and 60 HZ. The system must be capable of the following air requirements: 80 psi, 10 cfm and clean, dry air. This is NOT a request for competitive proposals.
