This is a Notice of Intent for the Kansas City Facilities Service Office to pre-qualify Design/Build entity, general contractors/AE Firm for the following NCO facilities in the Milwaukee District: Pewaukee, WI; Shorewood, WI; and possible future NCO projects up to $4,000,000 in the Milwaukee District. The Milwaukee District covers the following ZIP codes: State of Michigan ZIPS -- 498-499. State of Wisconsin ZIPS -- 530-532, 534-539, 541-545, 549. The estimated cost range for each project for Pewaukee WI and Shorwood WI is between $1,500,000 to $3,000,000. The projects are for new constructed USPS owned facilities. Planned construction starting date for these two projects is approximately March 1, 1999 and completion January 30, 2000. Primary factors that are to be considered are: 1. Project Management: quality performance, safety program, project control, ability to run phased project, quality management control program and performance, and work completed by the contractor's own forces; 2 . Construction Experience: 10 years experience as a prime contractor; having completed 3 projects of similar size and scope in the past five years with your proposed Design Team; United States Postal experience preferred but not mandated; 3. Financial Stability: Be able to secure bonding capacity in the amount required, and provide financial references; 4. Organization and management: staffing, workload, etc. Other factors to be considered MBE participation and commitment*. *Any contract resulting from this announcement will require the contractor to adhere to the MBE/WOB goals set forth in the solicitation for each project. Applications will be evaluated by a USPS committee, and all firms advised within 30 days of the closing date (1/4/99) as to their pre-qualification status. The pre-qualification statements will not be returned Firms selected as being the most highly qualified will be placedon the pre-qualification list. Failure to submit requested information may be a cause for rejection of entire pre-qualification request. This is not a Request for Proposal. Interested firms firms that meet the minimum criteria stated above may obtain a "Pre-qualification Package" at no charge on or about 12/4/98.
