Y -- MARKET SURVEY FOR DEZURIK BRAND WATER DISTRIBUTION VALVES SOL MICH01-9324-0001 POC Contact Karen Johnson, (334) 690-2535; Contracting Officer, Edward M. Slana WEB: http://www.sam.usace.army.mil/sam/ct/cgi-win/projlist.exe, http://www.sam.usace.army.mil/sam/ct. E-MAIL: cesam.plansroom@sam.usace.army.mil, cesam.plansroom@sam.usace.army.mil. Market Survey for Dezurik brand water distribution valves. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile District, is conducting a market survey to identify sources and to increase competition acquisition opportunities for large diameter (36" -- 84" in diameter) steel bodied butterfly control and isolation valves for raw water pipelines as large as 84" in diameter. Specialized type of water valves as currently manufactured by Dezurik Company, Inc. This request is only a market survey, not a request to be placed on a solicitation mailing list. It is for information only and is not a request for proposal (RFP) or announcement of a solicitation. The purpose of this sources sought request is to obtain information on potential manufacturers that would guarantee that their large diameter (36" up to 84") butterfly valves are constructed with seats that will provide leak free service and have the ability to be adjusted, repaired, or replaced in a simple manner withough removal of the valve from the pipe line. The requirement is for such valves to be constructed with seats such that are composed of a synthetic compound, without retaining bolt penetrations. Acceptable type valve seats must be mechanically retained in the valve body by means of a one-piece ring retainer and they must be fully field adjustable and repairable without special tools. Fully field repairable and adjustable requires adjustment in multiple directions. Repair must be able to be accomplished without special tools or special environmental conditions, i.e. (dry, warm, well-ventilated or cleanliness requirements which cannot be achieved with valves remaining in-place in wet, cold, and dirty pipe lines). These valves must provide for leak free service over an extended period and allow for adjustment, repair and replacement of the required synthetic seats without removal of the valve from the buried pipeline. Responses are required 14 days after publication of this notice. Responses should be addressed to U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, P. O. Box 2288,Mobile, AL 36628, ATTN: CESAM-CT-C/Michelle Stracener, (334) 694-3865. Firms interested in being considered shall provide manufacturer's name, product data clearly illustrating valve seat installation adjustments and repair. The written statement of compatibility shall include necessary back-up information and support documentation. A list of projects in which these specialized type water valves have been successfully installed shall be provided. List shall include exact location of project with a point of contact and telephone number. The Government will not pay for any material provided. The results of this synopsis will be considered to be in effect for a period of one year from the date of publication. Posted 11/23/98 (W-SN274126). (0327)
