The National Science Foundation has a requirement for the printing and binding of saddle stitched and perfect bound publications. The Request for Quotation is an indefinite quantity/commercial item solicitation. This solicitation is in accordance with Simplified Acquisition Procedures for Commercial Items. An indefinite quantity contract will be awarded to one or more firms. The solicitation will be divided into two Lots. Lot I will represent the specifications and pricing schedule for saddle stitched publications. Lot II will represent the specifications and pricing schedule for perfect bound publications. The printing and binding of these publications will have the same general attributes. Variations will be in the quantity and paper stocks of the covers; the text will print black ink on 60# recycled offset and the binding will be saddle stitching. This will include prep work, stripping, platemaking, binding and delivery to several locations in the Washington area. The period of performance will cover a base year (12) months and an optional year of (12) months. Items to be furnished under the contract shall be ordered by the issuance of purchase orders. It is preferred that interested contractors be located within 100 kilometer (62 mile) radius of the National Science Foundation, 4201 Wilson Blvd., Arlington, VA 22230. Any quoter intending to use production facilities outside this area will be required to furnish information, with their quotation, which will on its face, demonstrate the ability to meet the schedule requirements. The contractor must be able to make last minute adjustments and be able to do pick-up and deliveries from the NSF on very short notices during production. The small business size standard based on a concern, including its affiliates, having not more than 500 employees. All services shall be performed at the contractor's facility.
