The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIRSYSCOM) is seeking information that may lead to a competitive acquisition of Laser Guided Training Rounds (LGTR). The LGTR must meet the requirements for Fleet training of the Paveway II and Paveway III missile systems in a cost efficient manner without impacting inventory levels of Paveway Weapons. NAVAIRSYSCOM is requesting information from companies interested in manufacturing LGTRs. All interested firms shall provide pertinent and current information concerning their firm's history of products; ability to manufacture, test and deliver LGTRs; and successful and timely completion of similar work as demonstrated by a listing of past commercial and military customers, contract numbers, points of contact, and work descriptions. Interested offerors are encouraged to research the government website relating to LGTR and RFI requirements at https://cae3.chinalake.navy.mil/lgtr/lgtr- start.html. Access to the performance specification and drawings under this website may be requested in writing from the NAVAIRSYSCOM point-of-contact listed below. Sources requesting this access will be required to sign a non-disclosure statement associated with all information contained in those areas. Responses to this RFI are to be submitted and addressed to Ms. Thomson, at the above referenced address, no later than 23 November 1998. It is desired that RFI responses be limited to ten (10) pages. Additional pages necessary to demonstrate capabilities will be accepted. Respondents shall provide NAVAIRSYSCOM with two (2) paper copies of the RFI. Sources will not be reimbursed for providing responses; therefore, the Navy will accept them in whatever form they exist. Responses will not be considered as proposals, and neither this announcement nor the RFI should be construed as a request for proposal. All information contained in the RFI is preliminary and subject to modification and is in no way binding to the government. Proprietary data submitted in response to the RFI will be protected when so designated. Responses should include the name and telephone number of a point of contact having authority and knowledge to discuss responses with government representatives.
