Z -- FRESNO BOATRAMP AND PARKING LOT REPAIR, MILK RIVER PROJECT, MONTANA SOL 99-SI-60-0300 DUE 121698 POC Hart BlackEagle, 406/247-7803 or Dean Cave 406/247-7646 E-MAIL: Hart BlackEagle at the Great Plains Regional Office, hblackeagle@gp.usbr.gov. The work consists of: (1) moving approximately 100 cubic yards of fallen rock from the alignment; (2) excavating a 2' wide trench, 4' deep, 190' in length in compact to weakly cemented, fine grained friable sandstone along the base of the eroding parking lot slope; (3) placing sheet steel piling in the trench extending above the trench 10' to 16', level with the elevation of the asphalted parking lot surface; (4) placing geotextile fabric in the trench and extending it 10' down slope of the trench; (5)anchoring the sheet piling and geotextile edge in the trench with concrete; (6) covering the geotextile with 4" of concrete reinforced with 6" X 6" welded wire fabric; (7)placing the removed rock on this concrete apron against the toe of the piling and slush-grouting it in place; (8) backfilling the void area between the eroded slope and the sheet piling with concrete in at least 4 lifts, with 24 hours minimum between lifts, to match the grade of the existing parking lot asphalt surface. Restraint and tieback of the piling during backfill concreting will be required, and the backfill side of each sheet of the piling will have 12" long stud welded or through-bolted anchors at each lift to prevent the piling from separating from the backfill concrete. (9) A 40' length of the eroded area, which extends past the trenched alignment, will have 5' to 10' lengths of steel sheet piling concreted in place at the top of the existing rock rubble slope and backfilled with concrete to the elevation of the parking lot asphalt surface. The rock rubble foundation under the backfill concrete will be neat-cement grouted prior to placing backfill concrete. (10) The existing parking lot guardrail posts and guardrail which have eroded out in one area will be raised in place and supported to the original installed elevation and concreted in place during the final concrete backfill lift. The edge of the existing asphalt surface will be trimmed to a uniform line paralleling the sheet pile alignment and the final concrete lift will match the edge of the asphalt surface. (11) A layer of local rock (18" minus) will be placed on the surface of the freshly placed final concrete lift, extending 4' back from the edge of the sheet piling, along the length of the repaired area. Posted 10/30/98 (W-SN267129). (0303)
